1.Boxee + ATV = The best TV watching experience, if you haven't tried Boxee and you own a mac/linux machine then stop what your doing and head over to Boxee.tv. This software changed my life, rather then watching having to watch my favorite Hulu shows on my laptop I can now move over to the TV and properly watch my shows.
2. Chumby + Pandora = Two things I love have finally come together, now I can enjoy the great music pandora has to offer whenever I’m away from my laptop and next to my Chumby. Find out more at chumby.com
3. FreeNAS + Time Machine = I love the idea of backing up my mac with time machine, tho I hated the idea of having to always plug in my mac and apple’s NAS solution was to expensive. I was able to research and found a free alternative using a couple tweaks and freenas. Tho freenas goes beyond just network backups. Find out more at freenas.org.
4. iPhone 2.2 + Jailbreak = Downloading podcast directly from my phone rocks and having the ability to see google street view on the road really helps me find those hard to find places. I love my iphone and i always love the updates. Check out the dev team blog for more info.
5. Canon + CHDK = Breathing new life into old hardware is always a treat. With the CHDK software you can make you pocket sized canon cameras take professional looking raw photos, time laps photography and tons more. Check out http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/CHDK for more info.

1. Blackberry Storm - I love that phone. I have had zero issues with it and will surf the internet from it instead of getting my laptop out.
2. Boxee - Great media center application. Hulu, CBS, Netflix and access to all your digital media. It will be huge once the Windows version is polished.
3. Geocaching app for iPod Touch - Great for paperless geocaching. Instead of printing off stacks of paper, I load local caches into the touch and can pull them up when I'm out. It's a nice companion to my Garmin 60csx.
4. TouchSmart - I know it's in the giveaway but I have been wanting to buy one. It's the perfect command center for a family. Put it in the kitchen and the family can easily access digital media, email and calendars. All from a touch interface. I might be a sucker for touch screens.
5. Aluminum MacBook - Great laptop. The size and weight is perfect for travel. The aluminum makes it feel solid in your hands.

3. Canon 5D Mark II: High Def, professional looking video. You can make some fine looking movies with bokeh using fast primes. A price tag under $3000 (body only).

4. The new Google Reader Interface : As a blogger, google reader forms the heart of all my blogging related activities.. The New interface is a marked improvement over the previous iteration and I'm just in love with Google Reader all over again..

1. Live Mesh - While it is still in beta, it is a lifesaver because you can have all your documents in the cloud. You also don't have to carry around those stupid usb flash drives anymore. It also does remote desktop... for free! Don't pay for logmein or gotomypc anymore!

2. New Xbox Live Experience - Having a visual representation of yourself and your friends is amazing. You don't have to look for your friends' names and try to remember who "seawolfparamorewwefan" is because their avatars look just like the person you want to play with! Also, my Xbox is much quieter because of game install which should help set the mood when I play Resident Evil 5 next year; nice and quiet for a good scare.

3. Optimum Wifi - My cable company, Optimum Online, has set up wireless hotspots... EVERYWHERE! I can go anywhere in my neighborhood and get wifi on my laptop; they have wifi service for miles and miles.

4. HP tx Tablet - A new HP tablet that I got for school. It is basically the iphone of laptops because it has a touch screen and a wacom tablet. Together with onenote, it is a note taking machine. It also helps the environment because this is the first semester ever that I have not used a single sheet of loose leaf!

5. Windows 7 (beta) - I think that Microsoft has really learned from their Vista experiment. Windows 7 really does bring back the speed and snappiness of XP. It also has multitouch on par with the iphone and dozens of new features. It also has a dock at the bottom that is far superior to that of apple's.

1. Samsung's Instinct. I love that I have a phone/media player in one, and that I can surf the net, check emails, post to twitter, etc all from my phone!

2. Epson's New Artisan Series of All-in-One printers! I'm about to purchase the Artisan 800 and am looking forward to having 1 printer instead of two! This should meet all of my needs, plus it's wi-fi capable, so we can print from anywhere in the house!

3. Online Ordering at places like Dominos Pizza!!! I absolutely love this feature are restaurant sites! It's wonderful to be able to put my order in, and know it's right, as opposed to hoping the person on the other end of the line hears me and places the correct order. I can also watch the status of my order which is lots of fun!

4. Twitter. I know this has been around for a while, but it seems to just be catching on as of this year. I'm thoroughly enjoying networking with other moms in business!!!

5. Blockbuster's mail program for DVDs and the online ordering of such. No more going to the store and hunting for the movie you want, only to find out they don't have it in stock, or worse yet, don't carry it! The online ordering is cool because you can search for titles, see how long the wait is (if any) and pile up your favorites in your queue! We've gotten to see so many movies our local store doesn't stock, and for very affordable prices too!!

The two items I’d love to keep would be the HP Touch to give to my wonderful husband, and one of the laptops for myself. (and yes, I’d review them here!)

All the other items I’d give away to local charities and organizations that could use some new technology. Some of these include the Pregnancy Care Center and the Children’s Advocacy Center.

The Pregnancy Care Center not only counsels expecting mothers, but offers classes in English, Basic Computer Skills, Resume Writing, Self Presentation, and others to help struggling women find jobs.

The Children’s Advocacy Center provides more than shelter for troubled youth. They clothe, love, and care for and child that needs it, and they do this all based on donations from the golden hearts of our community.

My husband and I proudly support these organizations by attending their banquets, donating money and items whenever possible. It’s one of the small ways we’re able to give back to our community, thus making the world we live in, a better place.

The items we keep for ourselves will also be put to use for volunteer work. We both design and manage websites, several of which we provide free of charge for charitable organizations. Along with the design, we donate web hosting and much of our time. I use my computer weekly to print labels for one of these organizations as well.

1. Nokia N82 – excellent phone features, the 5MP xenon camera (carl-zeiss), mobile surfing with WiFi, Java application support and good battery life.

2. Windows Live Services – purely free service which utilizes online storage, live messenger, calendars, blog services, custom domains, the live mesh and don’t forget the minimalistic UI that’s easy to load to any mobile browsers.

3. Zune Originals – an iPod competitor but with more features and a media-center like experience.

4. HP Mini 1000 series – Great netbook for surfing and blogging outdoors. Impressive specs with Intel Atom and the very stable Windows XP.

5. XBOX 360 – the best gaming console on the market with the new XBOX experience. A long list of well-awaited games and renting services.

2. Acer One. Would not personally go for a mirror screen but nice with some solid competition.

1. Apple iPhone 3G - Great things for great dudes. since it was launched in my area this month, i have used it less and whatever i have done with it its great.

2. Microsoft Sync - I loved using it, when i used it in my friends car, it was the best way to operating gadgets in the car. I also operated a mobile with so. Its best u don't even have to touch a mobile. Thats the way to lazy guys (in short me).

3. Wii Fit & Wii Balance Board. Infact whole wii system is amazing. I love gaming on all consoles.

4. Amazon Kindle - For a booker lover as I, there is nothing more amazing and essential then this products, its amazing. I particularly love it because i can read while lying down in my bed at night.

5. Optoma Pico PK-101 - I would love to have a personal projector, I never had projectors, and if it can work with ipods and all then nothing better, I could use it at my school and with friends and on the go. Great gadget.

I've gone head-first into the cloud and want (or actually use) the following to manage my life and archive details of it:

1. HP Mini - take it anywhere without needing to lug another bag or break a sweat

2. Zoho Apps - quality applications (some still need a little work - but all are usable) to substitute for MS Office. I've downloaded the Word/Excel add-on that allows me to save .doc / .xls straight to Zoho. Zoho Creator gets me an online job application that hosts applicant details and instantly notifies me of a new submission. Now my Creator apps can even be hosted on Google's AppEngine

3. Windows Live SkyDrive - they just recently expanded to 25Gb of free storage and have improved their interface. One of the best improvements is allowing picture sizes up to 50Mb so I never lose quality. It took a little creativity, but you can even manipulate the embed html offered for each stored document to hotlink without having to show the MS Live button. The butto is attractive, but not always appropriate for every use.

4. LG Lotus (the black one - not the purple/paisley/girly one) - for texting, email & internet. Hopefully it can be a laptop substitute for some routine online requirements. Blackberry, Apple, Samsung, and many others have more powerful smartphones, but this is the only clamshell phone with decent capabilites so far (that I'm aware of).

5. Hordit - to store everything. I'd like it if Hordit got a little more pep in it's step, but I love the feature "read it later" that lets me mark a website for later without it getting lost in all of my browser's bookmarks. I know - a little creativity could handle this without needing Hordit but the fact that it's unlimited free storage makes me think it might be a candidate in my search for a place to centralize the stuff I have littered around the internet at other cloud storage sites.

1 - Ipod touch : I love it, I decided I would spend the money and when I did I was so happy. It's so convenient, the movies/music/games and internet are just amazing to have when you're waiting somewhere.

2 - Razer Tarantula Keyboard : This keyboard is $119. I think or close but I got it brand new very cheap on ebay. It's for gaming.

3 - Blizzard Authenticator : This is a little tool that generates a password based on time so if someone finds out your password they can't log in unless they have the physical password gen.

4 - Xbox 360 NXE : The new experience is an awesome update, everyone know's why. There were some tech issues for me but they passed.

5 - VGA Converter : I bought the Chinese generic version but it works awesome, it lets me plug anything I would plug into my tv; into my computer so I can use my monitor as a television.

1. The HP Mini 1000 - my dream notebook for being on the run.

2. The Amazon Kindle - to have loads of books at my fingertips, along with getting to read sample chapters before purchasing, turns me on.

3. Wii Fit - an incentive to get off my bum after spending hours at my computer.

4. iPhone 3g - easy access to my life, wherever I am, as well as to the rest of the world.

1. Sprint Touch Pro: Upgraded from my Treo 700wx a few weeks ago and I love the new device, I don't have to carry around a separate bluetooth GPS that may or may not work when I need it, and it's actually usable for web browsing with Opera and the VGA screen.

2. Tivo HD +Netflix: A great new use of my most essential gadget. Getting a laptop hooked up to a TV to watch a Netflix stream is more of a hassle than just driving to a video store to begin with.. this solves the problem by just streaming to a device that's always there anyway.

3. Mino HD: I haven't used this little guy yet, but my girlfriend adores the thing; and it does seem quite handy.

4. Slingbox (Slingplayer 2.0): Oh slingbox, how do I love thee, you stream to work, you stream to my umpc, you even stream to my phone. The fancy-pants new player (for the PC) added some snazzy new features like a guide and, more importantly, a 60 minute buffer to tivo-ify my streaming of tivo recordings... I'm pretty sure every time I recursively fast forward there's a chance I'll tear the space-time continuum.

5. Rockband 2 (Video Game/Uber-geek simulator): I want to rock and roll all night, and party every day; or at least a loose approximation of such.

2) Twitter - this was the year for Twitter - they helped put Obama in office, Britney Spears is tweeting away and they have a business plan ... oh wait skip that last one

4) Canola2 on the N810 - makes me forget I don't have the first device listed above
5) Songbird 1.0 - I never thought I'd see the day this little media player that could would make it to 1.0 - congrats!

1.) The New Xbox Experience. While having a clunky name, the revitalization of the Xbox is a huge leap forward in terms of its User Interface. While still being a bit unwieldy in some parts, overall its a vast improvement from the "Blades" system.

2.) Hulu: One of the best places on the internet that will allow you to legally watch shows, although it could use some more HD content. Finally went public this year. :D

3.) The netbook: In general the netbook has been an interesting advancement in technology this year. It probably is the buzzword of the year. Some of the best netbooks have systems with both discrete and integrated graphics to save power.

4.) Google Android: With the release of the T-Mobile G1, and the hacked installs of Android onto other popular smartphones (HTC-based). This is a huge improvement for the entire mobile sector, as the competition had gotten stale in terms of Operating Systems for a widespread amount of devices (which was limited to Windows Mobile and the custom Symbian OS variants).

5.) Verizon FiOS. I know this didn't come out this year for most people, but it did for me. This is huge for competition in my area (Portland), since it was just Comcast (and DSL) as the major providers of internet. Its already forced Comcast's hand to upgrade our service to 12/2Mb.

Kindle / Sony ebook reader: Seems like a great idea, if only they had most college textbooks would be to carry a pad rather than lugging textbooks around. Potential problem during open textbook tests lol.

Android: Google mobile os, haven't seen anyone with it in Canada but looks great from videos and pics.

Chrome: Google browser loved beta but went back to firefox as there were no addons at the time.

Aluminum MacBook: Friend has Macbook pro looks great, now can get same look for cheaper. I did like the black Macbooks too though.

1. Live Mesh: I use it to backup and synchronize the information of my laptop and desktop with my online desktop it is great for students.
2. Google Chrome: It still needs some fixes but it is great! Faster than firefox and ie and more secure as well. I know what everyone is going to say market share blah blah but so far it really is the most secure. That’s all I car.
3. IPod touch 2G/iPhone 3G: The idea is great but somehow they need to increase the battery life specially when using Wi-Fi.
4. Verizon FiOS: Future proof technology believes me I just took a class about broadband and we compare the different technologies (Cable, DSL, Satellite and FiOS). Fiber To The Home AKA FTTH is the future no question about it. So cable and DSL better get their act together before its to late.
5. www.hulu.com : At lasts a fast, easy, convenient and legal way of streaming movies online. The quality is very good and they even have anime!

1) iPhone App Store - very influential.
2) Android G1 - we'll see...
3) Amazon Kindle - about time!
4) Hulu.com - interesting to see how a media company plays out among the online broadcasting competitors.
5) Roku NetFlix Box - pretty cool.

Windows Live - for off site storage, mostly photos so far
Google Docs - for all sorts of documents and keeping track of things (like this contest, start and end dates, and which I have entered)
Google Reader - for keeping track of my RSS feeds, and having the read list accurate from home or work
Hulu - great for watching TV with very few commercials and whenever I want (I don't have a Tivo)
-- maybe a tie for 5th would be Gladinet (for accessing on-line sources as if they were local), Google Calendar (for an anywhere calendar - even thought I haven't used it too much), and Twitter for keeping tabs on some sites

1. iPhone 3G - I actually own one as does my two sons and one daughter in law. It is not the "best" phone on the market but its appeal lies in its design. They have disposed of things that no one really wants - gimmicks if you will - and added features that people actually want.
2. Popcorn Hour A110. This is an upgrade to the model A100. Although its interface is rather clumsy its utility is incredible. This is a media player and can stream media from locally attached or internal storage as well as network and internet sources. There are many contenders in this market and some with very slick interfaces but none quite as versatile as the Sybas based devices.
3. Android - Not so much for its design or its facility as for the fact that this is a harbinger of the next generation of mobile devices. This together with the iPhone are redefining the way we do mobile devices and the way in which they are used. They are giving the established mobile phone manufacturers a run for their money. They have for too long peppered the market with unimaginative and tired devices.
4. Mobile Me - OK so this is not original but it is a step in the right direction in making the mobile device a real mobile communicator. An attempt at integrating all the services into one location.
5. Windows Live Sync. - Again this is one of a plethora of services some of which are better than others. However this is a step (a small one) in the right direction. The online services are getting stronger all the time - what with Google, MS and many other online service providers the field is extremely varied and fragmented. The only one that is really managing the integration with any success is Google but there are many good ideas - one of strongest is Live - with Live Sync IMHO being one of the more interesting.

My suggestions for top 5 items:

1) The iPhone 3G - it was merely a revision of the previous iPhone, but bringing the (portable) Internet into an easy-to-pocket (and easy to use) formfactor without needing to drag along even a netbook was interesting. The addition of the App Store made things much more interesting, especially when they pulled along big-name publishers to sell in their 'little' App Store.

2) The Nintendo DSi - While on the surface it is simply another Nintendo DS, the addition of the two cameras and photo-manipulation software has made it more than just a simple gaming platform, and something more like a multimedia platform.

3) The HP Mini 1000 - while it may be merely 'another netbook', the Linux version stands out for being much more user-friendly (and aesthetically attractive) than the newest eeePC or the Acer Aspire Ones. It's also a great step up from the Mini 2133 as far as usability goes.

4) Android G1 - It's not a really good smartphone yet, but it has potential and is one of the few fully open-source platforms for mobile devices that actually looks like it has support (unlike the Zaurus' Linux versions) from more than one company.

5) PSP Firmware 5.0 - it's not a product, but it introduced the ability to wirelessly connect (and download) games and videos to the PSP without needing to connect to a PC or PS3 for the first time in the platform's history... which technically makes it the first portable player which is allowed to do so (since the demo downloading ability of the Nintendo DS has never been truly exploited by Nintendo, and it didn't have any storage to save games to anyways).

3) MediaMonkey - In my opinion the best music player. It syncs to anything I've tried and does conversions when it needs to.

4) Hulu - I finally found a place to waste time when I need to. The interface is much nicer than the sites for the daily show.

5) Dell Latitude XT - My first tablet, it's amazing to have multi touch on such a large screen.

1) Canon Powershot G10--who needs a DSLR when you have the G10? It's got it all (rich auto+manual features).

My top 5 for this year are

Google Reader's Big New Look - I only have been using Google Reader for the last 9 months, but I absolutely can't live without it now, being on the run alot doesn't matter where I login just jump on and catch up on the latest news. The new look makes everything that much sweeter and easier

HP Touchsmart - at first I was really sceptical of anything "touch" I've used some of the old touch screens in the work environment and man were they a pain to use. I guess I was put-off by them, but when I played around with the touchsmart at the shopping mall here, it won me over. This technology is sure to help alot of people with RSI and arthritis.

Opera Mini - has been around for more than a year, but the newer versions of this little phone browser that came out this year have improved significantly. Even though my Sony E. phone is older, doesn't have all the whiz bang apps like an iPhone... its all I need. I can still visit webpages and see them as they are supposed to look instead of some stupid stripped town text and misplaced graphics.

Gmail Mobile Application - This little J2ME app along with Opera Mini - are lifesavers for me as I'm out and about alot without any internet connection apart from EDGE on my phone.

Netbooks of 2008 - last but not least there have been a slew of new netbooks this year with so many companies (known and unkown) joining in on the party. My favourite models to stare and dream at are MSI's and HP's models... Not until some of the newer models did I actually consider buying a netbook. They were too slow, too small, not enough space ... there was nothing good about them, but finally we have some with nice-sized hd's and decent keyboard layouts. I will be buying one these, coz by back gets sore carting around my full-size laptop on my back riding my motorbike around town. I've got my eye on the Aspire One A150

Blackberry Storm - Everyone throws around the word "iphone killer", while im doubtful there will be a phone that will knock the iphone down (user base, and sales), the storm matches the iphone in price, and beats the iphone in features. I will most likely getting a storm when my contract is over.

3. The new HP Touch smart 25' - I never noticed the first HP Touchsmart, but this new one is the best looking AIO computer ive seen, in design and functionality.

4. Orange Box - The release of Orange Box was HUGE - Portals and original (mostly) first person, strategy game - Half Life 2 - Episode Two, a new release to the half life 2 series, continuing off of the classic, which all gamers should have and love. - and Team Fortress 2, a new team fortress 2, built well, great multilayer, and awesome game play. PLUS MORE.

5. "Electronic Paper" - I saw quite a few articles talking about improvements on it, and showing off concepts for the ultra thin, flexible screens.
WHEN it's released its going to be HUGE.
Being able to have large, very thin screens will not only change our portable devices, its going to change ALL of our devices.

1. Nikon D60 - One of the best entry dSLR cameras out there.
2. iPhone 3G - Nice update, good looking and of course GPS
3. Plurk - Alternative to twitter but with nice timeline!

1. HP EliteBook 2730p (with dock and slice battery) - an excellently-designed tablet PC which covers the entire desktop replacement solution in a sleek way.

2. HP Mini 1000 - nice design with all the right features for a netbook and a reasonable price. The MIE version could finally break out of the pack of similar netbooks by offering a unique and desirable UI.

3. Apple iPhone 3G/iPod Touch - breakthrough UI offering fluid user experience that allows the technology to take second priority and puts the user experience on top. A perfect match of software with hardware.

4. HP TouchSmart PC - brings touch technology with useful UI to the average consumer, and more importantly into his/her home to share with the family, as opposed to a techie/business-oriented device. This move was similar to the approach that Nintendo took with the Wii by reaching out to the family, even though competitive products had better hardware specs. for the gamer crowd.

5. Microsoft Surface Technology - while geared to retail services like hotels and cellular service providers, the UI offers a compelling alternative to the point and click of the mousse, focusing on simultaneous group interaction.

1. Zune 30: It's not new, but the new software and firmware updates are great!
2. Xbox 360: Also not new, but updated with the New Xbox experience.
3. HP TouchSmart: Seems wonderful, and I'd love to win it.
4. Netbooks in general: A great idea, and technology has advanced to the point where something that small is really useful..
5. HP HDX Dragon: The prize from the earlier giveaway. Incredible specs, and I'd love to have one.

1.Phone - HTC Touch Diamond. HTC made such good piece of software and design so even my wife want this phone. They changed how people look at windows mobile device.
2. Tablet/Notebook - HP TX2500 series. I own this tablet and i think it's really amazing. It's my first tablet and in my country Poland it has best price vs. specs. Finally tablet not only for tech guys for reasonable price.
3. Desktop Computer - HP TouchSmart. I've seen review videos and think that this computer is perfect for today family lifestyle. maybe not best for everyday work but perfect for movies, music, news and even as cooking helper.
4. Storage - Servers with MS Windows Home Server. WHS premiere was in nov/dec 2007. but this year the realised big update - Power Pack 1 that fixed most problems with this platform. I've got home build of WHS and it rocks. It gives me ability to share media in my home and outside it. Finally i have one place for my digital stuff.
5. netbook - MSI Wind. As many other netbooks small form factor is the key.

1. iPod Touch - bought it around about this time last year and has been great for browsing the Internet and errr, listening to music. Also checking Facebook with the app.

4. Movable Type 4 - The MT Pro features such as template sets were great whilst I was using them on my blog.

iphone g3-- I'll admit I don't own an Iphone, and I probably never will. But it just so turns out they make me really giddy inside. And I constantly play with my coworker's when I'm not in school. G3 is just souped up awesomeness. You can't beat that!

hulu.com-- Some may say it's overrated. But I think it's a wonderful thing. When tv-links was destroyed, I had nowhere to turn. Now that it's beack, I prefer to turn to Hulu. House, M.D. forever! Haha. But seriously, I don't watch THAT much TV :) But I sure love the convenience.

netflix for 360--I hope you count this. Because this is amazing. No more waiting for mailing or being disappointed by a scratched disc! Everything you love INSTANTLY through your XBOX360. I haven't gotten to try this out yet, but Christmas Break is right around the corner!

HP mini--Look, maybe I have a soft spot for adorable and small notebooks. It's almost a shame I wouldn't keep it if I won it. I would actually give this, as well as another lap top to the Urbana Middle School FIRST Lego Robotics League team that I mentor through my university. They're using this crazy old Mac that can't handle ten minutes unplugged.

Last but DEFINITELY not least--ordering take out/delivery online. Where has this been all my life?! My campus even has "Insomnia Cookies" which you can order online and have them delivered. And if you order online, you get like a free cookie or something like that haha. It's been a while since I've needed late night cookies. Funny story regarding this service: My friend was in Florida as a Disney intern, and often ordered Pizza Hut via the interwebs. One night, a night of Indiana Jones marathon-ing to be exact, she ordered about 60 dollars worth of pizza, after she had come back from Florida.... She forget that the website/her laptop had saved her Florida address. Our pizzas definitely went to her Florida apartment, and after some confused phone conversation, we got our pizza 40 minutes later.

1. Wii Fit - Probably the most innovative and interesting thing I've seen in mainstream gaming for awhile. I'm suprised by how fluid and streamlined gaming devices have become as compared to the gaming consoles and accessories of my youth. Ah, the memories of blowing into NES cartriges and the device itself... good times!
2. Blackberry storm - Finally an appropriate competitor to the iphone. And while I actually do like both Blackberry and Apple, it's good to see a phone that can actually compete with the 3G.
3. Google Chrome - Love the minimalism of this browser. And although I sometimes feel it's too minimalist, I'm finding that my pages load faster than other browsers and that makes everything else AOK with me.
4. Macbook Air - this thing is super thin - enough said!
5. Mimobot friendswithyou flash drives - in my humble opinion mimbots are the most stylistically impressive flash drives on the market. The set of mimobots designed by art collective friendswithyou is my favorite release from the company so far.

1. Nokia N96 - A great phone which is capable of giving competition to the iPhone.

I look for digital technology that can enable the film production capabilites of one person. I enjoy working alone. It comes from growing up in a family with a business, I didn't work in,
where there was vicious competition. Women and minorities are not only excluded from filmmaking because of financing, but traditional crews will engage in hazing and take vegeance on these type of leaders.It takes one such person to break down the moral of an entire crew. I've spent most of my life celibate, deliberately, because it effects the mindset of artists and intellectuals. I don't care to listen to the conversations of women or men who have been preoccupied with such things during their life - or with the stereotypes the press perpetuates, I have an extreme view on this.

These digital choices are not a preference for production on the run. More portable equipment allows a smaller number of people to be moving less weight and producing more in camera effects or creating more scenic backgrounds or whatever else is needed.

5)Roland's Edirol very portable Field Recorder, R-09HR 24bit wave/mp3 recorder. Although their
were earlier versions this revision is the ultimate in portablity. Also, a mention for the
F-1 Video Field Recorder for HDV and DV.

1. MSI Wind. Finally, netbook that I can use without reading glasses or a headache!! No more explanation required. :)

2. Wii Fit. Okay, I don't play video games, but I have been really happy to see a focus on being 'part' of the game, and the fitness benefits that this entails. Hopefully we can move past the 'gamer in the basement' imagine, and view games as a lifestyle enhancing product for both mind AND body.

3. Amazon Kindle. Yes, it isn't all the pretty or particularly user friendly to be frank, but Amazon have demonstrated that there is a market for ebooks, and in the same way the original Asus net-book with its 7" screen made it a challenge to use, it still demonstrated an otherwise unknown market segment. I'll enjoy watching this one grow.

4. Apple iPhone 3G/iPod Touch. I am not an iPhone user or wanter, but they have set the standard for non-business devices of this nature. I still believe Blackberry is the Queen, but for status and style, and finally 3G, Apple is off running.

5. Vista SP1. This will be unpopular, so let me explain. I consider this a top technology product, because of the amount of press and usage (or lack of) that it has gained. As the key attempt to fix Vista, (and it did, to an extent), it has continued to open the doors for open source / Apple etc. options to continue to knock on the MS door. 15 years from now, looking back, I think the release of Vista, and delays the SP1, will be seen as tipping point for the roll back of the MS dominance. Vista started the trend, and SP1 simply demonstrated an inability to encompass the entire computer sector, favouring power and processors over usable with a low energy footprint. I am not an anti MSer anymore than I am a pro-Apple, but I do think we are seeing a paradigm shift in the tech market, of which Vista and SP1 are certainly a cause.

1. HP dv6885se - This is one of HPs best laptops. It has great specs and it looks nice.
2. Dreamweaver CS4 - One of the best versions of Dreamweaver to date, looks really nice now and fits in with Adobes stuff now.
3. Firefox 3 - Firefox 3 was a great refresh of Firefox 2 and it runs better and faster than ever.
4. Windows 7 - I have only tried the beta once and only read the new about it, but it sounds like it will be very nice.
5. Zune - Its a great product that doesnt get the praise it deserves.

1. My Iphone: Best phone I have ever had, and I have had some overpriced flag ship ones from nokia and motorola. A typical Apple product, it just works

1. Google Chrome - Many people I know don't like it because of its lack of plugins and such but I find it a really fast and good looking browser. I've use it all the time since the first beta was released and I have yet to be disappointed.

2. Intel Atom processor - A great breakthrough in portable technology. With this chip we are now able to do more demanding tasks on smaller devices such as cellphones. It is just a matter of years until we will have cellphones as good as a modern laptop and the atom processor proves it.

3. Apple iPhone 3G / iPod touch 2G - Apple has redefined the way people look at PMPs today and I think they have had a big influence on the phone market as well with their lightning fast touch-only device. True, it has faced some issues but most of them are fixed now and even with them the iPhone 3G is truly a greak breakthrough in technology, displaying the capabilities of modern day devices.

4. All the apps at the appstore in itunes. They are AWESOME!

5. Geeks! - I knew it would be awsesome if Chris pirillo were to make a community with a forum and stuff and finally, this year he did! I was one of the first thousand to register and now we have over 10000 members! It's really a great community and it gives you an oppurtunity to meet other geeks who share the same interests. Maybe not so revolutionary but I just love it!

If I were to win (ya, big chance), I would share two of the notebooks with my friends. We are all starting to study programming so having a laptop is essential. The Touchsmart PC I am going to keep for myself, my computer is really old and a new one would fit perfectly. I don't know about the rest though, I will probably give away all the photo related things to my parents since they are really into photography for some reason. 1. Nikon D700 - after the coup de grace that was the D3, all the clout in a smaller package seemed far too good to be true! Stellar DLSR.

SlingMedia Slingcatcher - I've had a slingbox (original) for a while and though I see the HD aspects of some of the range as pointless given encoding and bandwdth restrictions, I can't deny that this is simple one of the most incredible pieces of technology I've ever owned. And doesn't get NEARLY enough press!
3. The iPhone 3G. I'm a committed Windows Mobile fan, and will never have an iPhone but I you can't help but applaud Jobs & Co for a fantastic effort and making handset and UI manufacturers raise their game.
4. Opera Mobile 9 for Windows Mobile. Fantastic rendering at long last. It may have been a little behind Safari on the iPhone but its AT LAST starting to turn the tide on the awful Pocket IE experience.
5. The Voodoo Envy 133 - think someone else mentioned this above, but Raoul and the boys did pull off a stormer with this chassis. Fantastic looking bit of kit to challenge the Macbook Air! If only it had the power of the Sony Vaio Z series....

3. Samsung NC10 - The best netbook IMHO. Insane battery life.

1) Windows Live Mesh: This is the first real demonstration of cloud computing, and I think it's going to get exciting quite quickly. With applications and a mobile client on the horizon, this will be one of the primary ways people keep their devices connected.

2) iPhone 3G: A product that has reached 30% market share in very little time. This phone has single-handedly changed the smartphone industry. One can only imagine what the next great phone will bring.

3) Netbooks: Started in 2007 with the EeePC, this phenomenon really took off in 2008. Netbooks have made mobile computing as or more affordable than desktop computing, and with models such as the MSI Wind, the HP Mini, or the EeePC 1000, they even look great too.

4) IE8: Still in beta, but this will mark the most exciting release of IE ever, whether you like IE or hate it. Why? Finally, we will have an Internet Explorer with standards compliance! 1. Hulu - Before we got a dvr with our cable service this year I would watch The Office episodes that I missed on Hulu. I don't have to do it anymore since the dvr is in our home but I still use it for old tv shows, movies and Saturday Night Live. Very nice library.
2. Wii Fit - We actually just our Wii after Thanksgiving and love it but are hoping to get the Wii Fit for Christmas. I think it will provide some added motivation to get up and move in the winter.

5) HD/LCD digital TV - Forces all of us old folks to buy a larger television. Now I can actualy see what is on television.

It's hard to whittleit down to just five, but here goes:

1) HTC Touch Pro - What a gorgeous phone/PDA! with a better QWERTY keyboard and better screen resolution than most similar devices. This looks to me to be THE converged device.

2) iPod Nano, 4th Gen.- I am glad the "fat" Nano is gone, and the old form factor is back. Great video, 16gb, and the accelerometer. WOW!

3) Nikon CoolPix P80 - 10megapixels at 13 frames per second with vibration reduction and 18x optical zoom. My dream camera!

4) Hulu - Like I needed another reason for being a couch potato! But it's a great source for those videos you've been looking for.

5) 64GB USB Thumb Drives - Can you say versatile, long life, portable backup media! Iknow I can.

1. Iphone 3g - im not an apple fan, and i can say im not an iphone fan either, but got to admmit iphone is what , right now, is more close to what technology will be in a near future, i believe we will see the OS in a device like a paper, just a very very slim screen, no buttons, nothing more .

2. Aspire one - i think these devices even if they are in their early life, they won´t last many time, but in the present time they brought some fun to the computing world, we don´t have to carry those 15" monsters any more..

3. Amazon kindle - as a ebooks lover couildn´t let this one out , but needs to improve (maybe to what i was talking in the first one)

1) Intel Core i7 - With their newest CPU, Intel takes another big leap forward in performance.
2) iPhone 3G - Addressed much of the woes with the first iteration of the iPhone
3) Blackberry Storm - Blackberry's jump into the touch screen phone business is a great competitor to the iPhone and takes advantage of some of the deficiencies with the current iPhone 3G.
4) Google Chrome - Google tremendously upped the performance and security bar for the browser market by introducing Chrome. While it may never take up a large market share, creating a new open source browser that sweeps away the competition will be beneficial to the whole browser market.
5) HP Mini 1000 - A great computer for people who are always on the go that need a cheap, small, lightweight computer.

You don't have to sign onto a website, you don't have to read a million other peoples updates if you don't want to. Evernote - Truly saved my ass when I forgot what _that_ address was. Wrote it down on a piece of paper, took a photo of it and uploaded it straight to the web. Unknowingly left it at home, but hey, Evernote came in and saved the day!

iPhone 3G - I know this appears very common, but this phone is just plain amazing. Especially after it's jailbroken as well! It's now a gaming device, mobile internet device (Use it to book movie tickets!), and pretty much a lifestyle change.

Hulu - Hey, I may not live in the States but there's always a VPN to back me up! Great service for a great price - $0! Allows me to watch my favorite TV shows legally without even downloading it.

Live Mesh - Just works, surprising for something coming out from Microsoft! Plus on a Mac too! Anyway, I use it daily to sync my notes folder on my Mac to my Windows Tablet PC

Dropbox - Syncs my important notes/receipts to their server, plus it's free, so why not?

1. It's Sony VAIO TZ which is the best laptop i have come across. The reason why i chose is because when you have to buy a laptop and 2 choices are given to you - A Compaq Presario (1 gb ram, no webcam) or A VAIO (2 gb ram, 1.3 megapixel camera) then what will you choose?

2. It's Ipod Nano 4g. Why? Because the price of A Ipod Touch is Very high due to extra taxes. I mean what the hell is this?

3. A browser called Minefeild. It's developed by Mozilla. Actually i hate slow speed so i decided to pick up the worlds fastest Browser (even faster than Chrome)

4. The next one was G Os (Google OS). It is a operating system which is 100 times better than Vista and G OS is free of cost

5. I downloaded the latest version of stardock to enhance my computer which has vista running not G os. It looks cool and makes me think that it atleast has some qualities of mac.

1. Adobe CS4 Master Collection - a more significant upgrade over CS3 than CS3 was over CS2. Integration between programs is fantastic.

2. Acer Aspire One - bought one for my wife and it (mostly) beats the pants off my Asus EeePC. More generally, I think the Atom processor should get a mention, since it really opened up the netbook market in a way that previous processors didn't allow.

3. Twitter - although it didn't come out this year, you could argue that it started working this year. Also, the purchase of Summize and integration with the main Twitter site has been a boon for finding that one tweet when you can't remember who tweeted it.

4. iTunes Genius playlists - while it doesn't always work 100%, it's a significant improvement in intelligent playlisting.

5. Diigo - Not just because they won the Open Web Awards for "Best Social Bookmarking", but because they really are the best. Integration with blogging platforms and Twitter allows you to more widely share the content you're reading. It's like stream-of-consciousness blogging without all the awkward bits.

As to what I would do with all this tech, well, obviously some of it I would keep, but I also work at a school, and education budgets being what they are, I would use the two laptops, at least, in my classroom. Also, I have little need for yet another printer, so I would pass that along to someone who needs it.

2) BlackBerry Bold 9000 - nothing against the iPhone, but I like how RIM has updated the original BlackBerry form factor. Elegant design, good specs, classic BlackBerry keyboard, GPS and WiFi and a battery that deserves that name.

3) Dropbox (www.getdropbox.com) - I've been using the free 2GB account since it came out of closed beta during TC50 (having received the beta invite a day earlier ;) ), and it's pretty much made my USB thumb drive obsolete when it comes to transferring files from one machine to another. Since I can also access all of my Dropbox files on any machine through the browser, this is really all I need. The client app works great, and if you add the local folder to the Windows SendTo: folder, you can copy any file to your Dropbox folder with a right-click.

4) GMail gadgets and Remember The Milk (https://www.rememberthemilk.com/services/gmail/...) - access all of your RTM tasks and create new ones from your GMail account. I have been using MS Outlook to work GTD-like and create tasks from emails, but this could very well be the online replacement.

5) SlideRocket (www.sliderocket.com) - I used SlideRocket after getting an invite for the beta and really like how they work hard to make this the best browser app for presentations. You can select images from an online gallery, order printed copies, collaborate on presentations, invite others to see them and more. The UI is good and I think they do a good job in communicating with bloggers and users via their newsletter.

So, I could probably think of way more things, but I use the computer a lot; so bam, there it is. My computer runs like a bag of sticks, and it is so random, though the new cd drive has improved it quite a bit. It's not even a name brand one though :O
It's junky and the monitor is like massive (like a brick) but again, I use it a lot, so here it is on my list.

4. Finepix Digital Camera. (Late '08)(Shoppers)
Okay, this one has to be on my list. It would be last, if I didnt have a clone computer ^-^ Basically I use this for my photography (wow, like they didnt know that >.>) Photography is one of my hobbies, and I use this quite a bit. Though most pictures come out blurry/cloudy, it works most of the time.

3. Sandisk Sansa E280 V2 (Early '08)(Firmware - Sansa site)
I chose this because it is sleek, functional, and it works. I do not leave the house without those headphones in my ear, and the mp3 in my pocket. Though some troubles came up with my older version, the new one is fantastic -- especially after they recently added the new firmware update for the system, it's a lot faster! It semi-looks like an Ipod Nano, but way cheaper (by cheap, i mean less expensive lol)

Well i basically chose this for obvious reasons. I like toast. Our old toaster hit the rocks, and we decided on buying one of those hi-tech-ish ones. haha. My toaster is a modern, 4 slice toaster. Haha -- it even has a bagel and reheat settings :)

It was so funny to the Terminator/Govener navigating me around the streets of LA. It certainly made our trip far less stressful, and definatly more entertaining.

Mmm, digital lifestyle, yes. Here are my top 5 faves this year:

1.) Mint.com -- This financial website gives me a quick snapshot of my finances, budgeting, etc. and allows me to access it anywhere and to share it easily with my wife--two problems that never really worked for Quicken and M$ Money.
2.) Sprint's HTC Touch Diamond WinMo phone -- I've never had a good smartphone before (except when testing them for work), and now I'm finding that having this info on hand all the time is priceless, from scheduling appointments to responding to emails that used to go unanswered.
3.) Google Maps on my GPS phone -- (Yes, it's related to the above one, but...) This is fantastic--a few quick glances at my phone screen allowed me to navigate in unfamiliar parts of Boston on a recent trip.
4.) ASUS WL-520gU wireless access point/router -- For years I've had crappy old-model Linksys WAPs that needed to be power-cycled weekly. So far, this little box has been invisible--working as it should.
5.) Hulu.com -- (was this released in 2007? I'd never heard of it then...) I haven't had cable or bunny ears for my TV for 7 years or so now, so if I wanted to "watch TV" I had to rent DVDs of old TV shows. Now, my Sweetie and I can watch episodes of our favorite shows like Arrested Development on the laptop anytime.

Apple I phone 3G. Because you needed an excuse for sleeping outside a store.

Blackberry Storm. The QWERTY keyboard gets credit for uniqueness. Haven’t seen anything like it, but will trigger a string of Me Too designs.

HP mini 1000. Slim and beautiful. It’s the Posh Spice of netbooks, except the HP deserves the attention.

1. Smartboard--this is not super new tech, but it's the very first time I have ever gotten to use it and it's damn fine. How would I teach without it?

About me and what I would do if I won:

I will be graduating this December from the University of Georgia with a degree in science education (and I'm just so darn excited about it!) and about half of the prizes I plan to take to my biology classroom (classes start Jan 7th!) I will be down in Wayne County (South Georgia--practically it's own state considering how very different it is from those liberal NORTHERN counties). Most of South Georgia is really poor, it's basically the armpit of America. It's face meltingly hot in the summer where it's 85% humidity and degrees at three AM. There quite a bit of sulfur down there (making the water taste funny and the air stink--but produces those famous Vidalia onions). But those students deserve a great education too. I don't have worry nearly as much about violence in schools (the school system I substitute in right now has guards with guns in the elementary schools). I think my teaching style would fit in very well down there. A whole of the population (about 60%) make their money from hobby farms which fits with my very...organic teaching style. I used to be a horticulture major and I just love how the knowledge in the classroom translates into the world around us. I want to bring scientific thought and process to every day life.

My second goal in teaching is bring cross-curriculum come hell or high water. Cross-curriculum is tying music, poetry and essays to science. I plan to have a project where each student has to read a science fiction book and do a report that must compare the science in the book with the real science. I also have warm-ups planned everyday and on Wensdays this will be a science poems. Some of the authors are Federico Garcia Lorca, Walt Whitman, Emily Dickinson, John Haines and George Bradley. I feel so very strongly that the lack of crossover in the subjects makes us more compartmentalized as a culture.

Now about how this prize package would help in my quest of learning and education? Well the HP mini would become the science department's computer used in the field for data collection. There would be a sign up sheet so that all the classes could share the wealth (though I plan to try and be out in the field at least once a week on average). Another laptop will be in my computerless classroom for student use.

I am also very excited about the printer and photo packages. I firmly believe that grades are not the only way to evaluate student progress. Portfolios are a much better way to show student knowledge. The student offers artifacts and reflections on their quest to learn a topic. Pictures are a very important part of this process. They are taken to help show live action artifacts or artifacts that are too big such as insect collections.

My mother (who is retiring and planning to travel) will get one of the laptops, the premium one (she's worth it--trust me). I admit that I really really want the TouchSmart for myself (I have no TV and this sounds like an awesome upgrade to viewing movies on my laptop). I think the student-teacher Microsoft office goes without speaking and the movies will all be donated to Toys for Tots. I would be happy to send pictures of everybody getting their prizes (and my new tricked out classroom!) as proof if I win. Please help me tech my room!

Windows Live Essentials BETA Refresh - I have been using this since the first wave 3 beta and have been impressed with the new improvements to the beta released just a few days ago, such as Calendar synchronization between Live Mail Calendar and Windows Live Hotmail Calendar. Also, I like the new social networking features built into the suite with better federation across services such as Windows Live Home and Windows Live Spaces. I also like the ability to upload data directly to services such as Flickr, Live Spaces, YouTube, (with the use of add in) through Photo Gallery. You can also import contacts from Facebook which is probably the highlight of this social network.

2. Intel Core i7 - why? finally, the Frontside Bus is a thing of the past, making this baby screaming fast, no more middle men, your data just travels from processor to memory.

3. Rockband 2 - Playing this game with the great music is just total fun.

4. iPhone 3G - Don't own one, but the hype, anticipation, launch made this one unforgettable and the App Store just makes me want to own one.

5. HP TouchSmart - I have saved the best for last. Why is it great? Simple, its a system designed for the future. Why I know this, when I saw a demo of Windows 7 rnning on this amazing PC at PDC 2008, I said, I need to get me one of these. HP has done an excellent job with its own Touch implementation, but when a user upgrades that system to Windows 7 next year and combine it with multi-touch, using computers will once again be a blast.

Here are my faves in no particular order of preference:

1) Tivo HD +Netflix - I will never have to visit or even pass by the video store again. That's what I call moving forward!
2) Mino HD - I have the very first generation of the mino the one that had the 30 minutes of storage capacity, I thought it was convenient and cool to be able to capture everything and anything and put in on my computer instantly, I can now that in HD and with much higher capacity so I can capture even more great memories! SWEET
3) Slingbox (Slingplayer 2.0): I don't own this one yet, my cousin does, and I fell in love with it, I'm still trying to devise ways to distract him so I can nab it......Hmmm........I'll keep that pinky and the brain plan to myself ;-)
4) iPhone - I don't own the iPhone itself, but come close with the iPod Touch 32gb which I absolutely love, of course, the apps that are available for the iphone and the touch keep me distracted for hours on my commuter bus into the city. It 're-kindled' my love for games again, which leads me to my fifth choice.....
5) Amazon Kindle - Not hard to figure out why Oprah is fascinated with this little dynamo. For those of us with little to no space this device is a lifesaver. I think the Kindle is costing Ikea money because let's face it, who needs a bookshelf anymore? :-)

2. Belkin Networked USB Hub- I have 4 computers on my home network and needed to rework the printer setup. I hated leaving the computers on just to share the printers. This hub by Belkin allows up to three usb devices to be handled on a ethernet port.

3. Brother MFC 240C Multi-Function Printer- Because of my new setup with the Belkin hub, I went in search of the most value with the cheapest price. I was able to get this for $45. It does everything you can ask for at a great price!

4. Carbonite- Online file backup. It's easy to setup and makes accessing your home files remotely easy.

5. Lenovo IdeaPad S10- Of the new netbooks, I like this series because of the neat color combinations.

1) Browser wars: Firefox 3 vs IE 8 beta - where do I begin? :) I love the improved bookmarking experience of both browsers. However, firefox is my poison of choice. The plethora of plugins available for firefox make it the clear winner. However, IE 8 beta came out with a new tool i.e. private browsing mode and I have it installed on my laptop so I'm still evaluating IE 8. Nevertheless, for all of Firefox's buggy nature, I'd rather use a buggy firefox than Internet explorer 7.
2) Foxmarks - after countless computer crashes and not finding my exported bookmarks, i read about this service and it's an online bookmarking tool that can encrypt and save your bookmarks and firefox passwords. In one word: awesome.
3) Camtasia studio 6 - they revamped their signature offering and it blows everything else in that category of screen capture/recording out of the water with its support for hd recording, etc.
4) Windows Live Essentials products - I can say that this is one of the best things to come out of Microsoft this year. If you haven't tried their live beta (for now) products particularly live photo gallery beta and live movie maker beta, you are missing out. they're free also so give it a shot!
5) Wordpress 2.7 - I love writing and this release simply makes blogging a pleasure once again. Major changes: upgrading wordpress core files and plugins through the admin interface, a revamp of the admin panel and more.

5) Google Android/T-Mobile G1. Something other than an iPhone!

1. Google Earth Pro / Google Maps - was amazed at how easy it was to get to several places this year when using the street view in Google Maps and Google Earth Pro.
2. iPhone 3G - cousin had the new iPhone and let me play with it. Was amazed at how quick things loaded on youtube, the quality of the videos compared to my mp4 player, and also got to play the game Crash on it using its motion detection tool to navigate in the game.
3. Windows 7 Beta - wasn't official, but got to have fun with the new features Windows 7 may have, such as the new sleek features with the taskbar, and the new "shake" technique.
4. nVidia 9800GT SLi - got to play Crysis at friend's place with the new nVidia 9800GT's with settings at high in HD.
5. Sansa Fuze - my first mp4 player and made things easier for me to watch movies on the go, listen to music on the go, and to finally be able to use the scrolling spin wheel that was used with the iPods.

My top five list for 2008 includes items that I do not yet have, but are on my wish list.

1. H.P. TouchSmart--My desktop is geriatric, almost as old as I am? I've seen the TouchSmart demonstrated, and the touch feature is an exciting innovation.

2. iPod Touch--I love the connectivity, and hope to get a Touch sometime soon.

3. iPhone 3G--I'd like to have this phone, but only if it is available for my wireless network.

4. Blackberry Storm--I already have a Curve, and would love to upgrade to a Storm, although I may have to wait until my contract renewal date.

5. Lastly, I love the Sync system that I have in my new Ford Focus. It is easy to use for hands free calling, and has a variety of media inputs to play my favorite tunes, including a USB slot. I can put music files on a thumb drive and play them directly using Sync. What a wonderfully useful invention, and a really fun techy toy, too!

If I am lucky enough to win the HP package, I would like to keep the TouchSmart, and give the other computer equipment to the Asheville-Mountain Chapter of the American Red Cross, where I volunteer, to use in our work with Emergency Services, providing immediate emergency assistance for those who have experienced a disaster. 1 - iPod Touch - I have no cell phone, so this is just a great option to get all the iPhone stuff without a phone.
2 - Google Android G-1 Phone - I've heard great reviews of this product...there's even talk it could unseat the iPhone. We'll see, but the keyboard looks awesome.
3 - Google Chrome - Slick browser with some very cool stuff other browser haven't thought of. Although the 'recent sites' feature may be a little too revealing for me.

1. Google Android - Let's think about this, a web company that has entered the CELLPHONE arena...and they don't suck! Definite potential to help push the overall technology to new boundaries - and to keep WinMo, RIM and iPhone on their toes.

2. Windows Live Mesh - One of the better-baked Live services in my opinion. Synchronization in real time, along with Remote Desktop Assistance integration. To me, it's VERY mighty.

3. Crossloop - As the "go-to" guy for computer support for my family and friends, this free program makes VNC almost foolproof. This program changed my lifestyle by letting me NOT have to drive 30 minutes each way at 10PM at night when some PC emergencies occur. Learn more at www.crossloop.com .

4. Wii Fit - Another one to think about, Nintendo has decided that exercise and video games can go together. Recording stats and tracking progress in a fun way, and it's not just a one trick pony like "Dance, Dance Revolution".

5. MicroSD cards - I just got a Blackberry Storm for work (it's for testing, I swear!). The unit came with an 8gb MicroSD card. Let me say that again, EIGHT GIGABYTES. On something smaller than a fingernail and roughly the weight of a postage stamp. What these flash cards do for the capabilities of music players, cellular phones and smart phones (not always the same device) is amazing, and usually not at the expense of the devices' form factor.

1) Microsoft Dreamspark (www.dreamspark.com): free copies of Microsoft Developer tools for students to download including Windows Server 2008.

2) The new wave 3 Windows Live services + software (http://www.windowslive.com/): These services and software really help me keep my life connected online ;)

3) Microsoft Photosynth (http://www.photosynth.net/): This is the coolest thing to happen to photography in years!

1 - Netbooks - From the Eee to the HP Mini 1000, now all we have to do is wait for the price to go down and the specs and battery life to climb.
2 - Xbox Media Center/Boxee - Boxee I'm still waiting for boxee to include me in their club, but XBMC has been great for watching movies. Great interface.
3 - Firefox 3 - I don't use anything more. Still fast, easy to use, and feature-rich.
4 - Google Chrome - Just as Firefox is keeping IE on its (elephantine) toes, it's nice to see someone introduce something that in some ways shows up Mozilla. Especially for it's multithreading.I still use FF3, but you can never have enough good alternatives.
5 - Hulu - Finally something legal and practical for people to watch movies online with. Who needs cable?

Here are my choices for the top five digital lifestyle products or services of this year:

1. The Apple iPhone 8GB Cell Phone - This state of the art product tops my list because it combines the iPod, a digital camera, smartphones and even portable computing to one device, with a widescreen display and an innovative input method. To me, this is a genius invention on Apple's part.

2. The 1.86GHz Apple MacBook Air - I chose this because I have always had such fantastic luck and experiences with all of my apple laptops over the years and this one has taken everything Apple ever invented to the next level! It's Intel Core 2 Duo processor with 1066MHz frontside bus makes it a very powerful machine!

3. HP’s iPAQ rx5000 Travel Companion - I chose this product because my husband travels a lot for work and this product has been a constant companion for him. It literally serves as his personal organizer, with daily necessities such as contacts, calendar and to-do lists all included, in addition to full Windows Mobile 5 functionality (access to e-mail, Microsoft® Office software applications and more). I also has a world clock, converters and other useful functions—and traffic, weather, travel guides and points of interests. This is a must have for anyone who spends a lot of time on the road.

4. Epson Artisan 800 Printer - I chose this product because it offers 5 in 1 with Wi-Fi: Print / Copy / Scan / Fax / Ultra HD Photo, Wi-Fi and Ethernet networking, and it prints two-sided printing saves paper (making this an eco-friendly product). I have seen the output from this printer and the quality and speed is phenomenal!

5. Nintendo Wii Fit - I chose this because you can play, interact and stay fit all at the same time. Fitness is extremely important for everyone of all ages to incorporate into their life and this has literally caught on like wildfire to all people of all ages! It is fun, entertaining and healthy!

Wii Fit- I think this game is awesome. We Americans are one of the most overweight nations out there and I think this is a great way to get some physical fitness into all our lives.

1) Hp Touchsmart Pc- I fell in love with it when i watched its illustration.
2) Google Android G1- Why? because I am a marketing business man and I recently saw the developer videos which explained each and every thing about this cool gadget. I can say that it is the perfect business man gadget.
3) Xbox: I am a big addict of xbox. I cannot leave it playing atleast for one day!
4) Ipod: I can never leave it.
5) Amazon Kindle: I like reading ebooks. It reads pdf files. So its one of my small little top gadget.
